Muscat: The Ministry of Labour participated in the activities of the Working Women's Second Arab Forum, which was held under the theme "Businesswomen's Future in Digital Economies" on August 28-29, 2022 in Salalah, Sultanate of Oman.
Organised by the Arab Labour Organization (ALO), the forum aimed at promoting work on the contributions of the private sector in attracting and increasing the number of women working in the digital sector, developing a scientific and training base to push women to play a greater role within the digital workforce, and provide them with the tools and skills they need.
It also aimed to reduce barriers to women's participation in the labour force by establishing more flexible arrangements for teleworking, creating new opportunities via the Internet, developing an e-commerce environment, and allocating flexible financing programmes targeting female entrepreneurs who use the digital environment and technological tools.
The forum discussed several axes, including the institutional and legislative frameworks for women's entrepreneurship and building the capacities of women entrepreneurs; digital education and training; and the future of entrepreneurship in light of digital economies: challenges and ambition; the fourth industrial revolution and the development of entrepreneurial projects.
