As Qatar is moving closer to host first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East with all arrangements in place from magnificent stadiums to record-breaking sales of tickets, World Cup fever is touching new levels.

Over 60 Qatar-based fans of teams from the Americas visited Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on Thursday, as anticipation builds ahead of the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East and Arab world.

Fans from Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico and the USA attended the event, along with supporters of Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador and Uruguay. They were joined by embassy representatives during the colourful and passionate gathering that was organised by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy’s (SC) Fan Leader Network.

Qatar Tourism (QT) has also announced the launch of a multi-city tour across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to showcase Qatar’s dynamic and rapidly expanding array of opportunities to the country’s most eminent hospitality operators.

Meanwhile CEO of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Nasser Al Khater has said that FIFA estimates that the World Cup’s returns could reach $6 billion. On ticket sales, he said that they are seeing strong demand which surprised FIFA officials. He said that Mexico Vs. Argentina was the best-selling ticket, followed by Saudi Arabia Vs. Argentina. Both tickets are sold out.

He added that the second phase of ticket sales concluded on August 16, with a new one starting in September. He stressed that officials from the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) were confident that there was going to be a strong demand for tickets, thanks to Qatar’s close proximity to heavily populated Asian countries like China and India, as well as some European countries. He said the total number of tickets available was 3.2 million, a third of which was allocated to sponsors and carriers.

Not only stadiums and other infrastructure is ready but Qatar has also finalized plans for cultural and other colourful activities.

Qatar will offer a wide array of entertainment options, besides cultural and adventure activities for fans from across the globe during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Under entertainment destinations, there will be FIFA Fan Festival at Al Bidda Park which will offer 100 hours of live music by international and regional artists and activities in an area of 500,000m⊃2;; the Corniche, which will host Qatar’s global street carnival along Doha’s iconic 6km waterfront and it will have more than 150  food outlets, 4 live stages and would host 70,000 people at a time among others.
